  • Nurse Practitioners
  • Psychologists

The Associate Members category was added in February 2012 and revised in November 2016.  This category represents individuals with at least a Baccalaureate degree and with an interest in the goals of this corporation and an interest in the goals of the Society.  Associate members have the same rights as Active members except that they may not vote or hold office. The candidate must be nominated by an active member and endorsed by an active member. Associates will pay the same dues and have the same obligations as Active members.

The Society is a nonprofit, educational organization that is headquartered in the San Francisco Bay Area, which is where most of its members live and almost all of its activities take place.  We have no chapters or affiliate organizations in other cities.

Membership activities include four educational dinners a year, a Vintage Tour of a selected wine region, a biennial wine tasting, and occasional trips to wine regions of the world. Speakers at the dinners present material concerning current medical research on the topic of wine and health. A Research Award is given periodically in recognition of significant research in the field of wine and health.

The Society welcomes new members.  Please read our membership page to learn how to apply.
